Even the most dedicated of fitness routines can come to a grinding halt over the Christmas break when the gym just isn’t an option. Thankfully, YouTube has you covered. We’ve rounded up our seven favourite streaming classes to keep you energised and active over the holidays – whether you’re after yoga or blood-pumping HIIT, here’s what the web has to offer...

What is it? A 15-minute boxing session interspersed with HIIT training from the BoxxMethod experts.

Best For: Kobox fans who want to get their fix without trekking to the studio.

Sweat Rating: 7/10 – Use a light pair of dumbbells if you have for added resistance.

HIIT with Joe Wicks

What is it? An intense 20-minute HIIT session with The Body Coach, aka Joe Wicks.

Best For? Burning off the mince pies. But be warned – this HIIT workout isn’t for beginners, or the very hungover.

Sweat Rating: 9/10 – The combination of burpees, squat holds and lunge jumps will get your heart racing.

Yoga With Adriene

What is it? A 40-minute vinyasa flow with YouTube yoga star Adriene.

Best For? Yogis will love Adriene’s easy to follow session that focuses on breath work to help calm frazzled nerves.

Sweat Rating: 5/10 – A surprisingly challenging set of asanas will boost endorphins and set you up for the day.

Core Workout

What is it? A six-minute core workout with Tracy Anderson that’ll boost digestion, too.

Best For? Overindulged tummies.

Sweat Rating: 2/10 – Our advice? Try this workout after a gentle 20-minute jog outside to boost energy levels and for an added cardio hit.

Dance Workout

What is it? More akin to an aerobics class, this fast-paced, eight-minute class has a dance twist that’s guaranteed to break a sweat.

Best for? Zumba fans.

Sweat Rating? 7/10 – But repeat for a full 10/10.

Fat Burning Cardio

What is it? A longer, 30-minute session designed to torch calories with absolutely no equipment, making it ideal for doing at home.

Best For? Fitness fiends and newbies alike – you can even print out instructions and familiarise yourself with the moves before you start.

Sweat Rating? 9/10 – Be prepared to seriously sweat with this one.

Resistance Band Workout

What is it? A 13-minute session using resistance bands to tone and shape the arms, legs and bum.

Best For? A low intensity option, this session is perfect for those recovering from injury.

Sweat Rating? 8/10 – Resistance bands target muscles you didn’t even know you had so expect to feel the burn.
