Ruth Crilly’s Festive Beauty Rules |
Favourites 22

Giving some of the most honest and in-depth beauty reviews out there, it’s no wonder Ruth Crilly – aka A Model Recommends
  – has amassed such a cult following. We caught up with the model, blogger, YouTuber and mother-of-two to find out which beauty products she can’t be without over the party season…

My ultimate Christmas party fragrance is... Tom Ford Black Orchid, but the new Jo Malone Green Almond & Redcurrant is a great day fragrance for the festive season.

For a foundation that really lasts... You can’t go wrong with Dior Forever, it gives great coverage and really does see you through the night.

Looking after your skin is essential in the colder months... I swear by Darphin 8-Flower Oil Cream Moisturiser, as well as Pai’s Cleanser and Alpha H’s Liquid Gold.

And for the body... Try body brushing daily with the Elemis Body Brush – this will really get your circulation going. I also love Ameliorate Body Cream, it works wonders.

When it comes to high street beauty... My top buy is Barry M’s Liquid Chrome Highlighter Drops. They’re amazing for brightening the skin and highlighting bone structure.

My favourite party season mascara... Is Clarins Supra Mascara – it has the staying power of a waterproof mascara with none of the drying effects.

The one product I’ll splurge on for party make-up is... Chanel Rouge Allure in Rouge Rebelle. You can’t beat a bright, festive red lip.

My ultimate festive beauty tip is... Try mixing a bit of face oil into your foundation – it’ll give your skin a real glow.
For a party-ready look in a hurry... You can’t go wrong with bronzed skin, bright red lips and lashings of black mascara.
If you’re dealing with breakouts... Try Omorovicza’s Deep Cleansing Mask, it’s one of the best I’ve ever tried. Keep an eye out for products containing salicylic acid, too, which helps to unclog pores and keep skin clear – I love Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant, which I use post-cleansing.
For instant volume... Spritz Colab Dry Shampoo, through your roots to absorb oil and add a little lift. It’s my fool-proof trick for instantly sexier hair.
