Beauty Destination To Know: Gazelli House |
Favourites 13

If Azerbaijani skincare brand Gazelli’s luxe products are a beauty industry secret, then its South Kensington outpost, Gazelli House, is a hidden gem. Championing a holistic approach to beauty and wellness, Gazelli’s first-class treatments go beyond the surface, providing guests with the tools they need to achieve a true sense of wellbeing on the inside. SL paid Gazelli House a visit to see what the hype was all about...

First things first what is Gazelli?

The Gazelli story began in 1999 when Dr Zarifa Hamzayeva, a genetic scientist, founded the skincare line of the same name. Some 40 years in the making, the range comprises nine products packed with Dr Hamzayeva’s patented Gazelli White Oil, a regenerative ingredient famed for its ability to accelerate cell renewal and transform skin’s health and elasticity. In 2011, the brand launched in Harrods’ Urban Retreat and has since gone from strength to strength, with Gazelli House now an established, albeit under the radar, destination on London’s wellness scene.

What are the products like

With just nine products in the range, Gazelli champions quality over quantity. The aforementioned Gazelli White Oil, a patented ingredient that can’t be found in any other product in the world is truly unique. Its ability to speed up the skin’s metabolic rate and encourage greater absorption of nutrients is the key to the glowing results; it also smells divine. While the cleanser is priced at £35 and scrubs, serums and moisturisers span up to the £85 mark, this is investment skincare, but the reviews speak for themselves.

Who’s it for?

Gazelli’s results-driven, science-backed formulas are ideal for those serious about skincare and anti-ageing. SL even knows of an industry-acclaimed make-up artist who says the range is the only skincare she’d ever use on her clients.

Tell us more about Gazelli House...

Located on Walton Street in South Kensington in a three-storey Georgian townhouse, Gazelli House – a spa come members club – aims to make guests feel at home (take, for example, the art deco entrance hall and decadent sitting room) while offering a range of holistic treatments. Facials and massages come alongside a session with a hypnotherapist, an acupuncturist, a life coach or even a dream therapist, to make you feel good from the inside out. Gazelli’s iconic products are at the heart of all the treatments, so expect to leave feeling restored and with one of the most radiant complexions yet.

We road tested...

The newly-launched Supercharged Facial, a 75-minute treatment that aims to address the skin’s underlying physiological issues. Having suffered from redness and sensitivity for aeons, the scientific element of this facial really appealed. Our skin was instantly glowing but it was ten days later when we really saw results. The treatment was followed up with a personalised email from our therapist, offering skincare, dietary and lifestyle advice, making this treatment truly one of a kind. We were even told to avoid moisturiser and just stick to serum for the next few weeks to help our skin rebalance. Gazelli’s skin therapists are second-to-none (there are only three on the team), making this personalised advice invaluable.

What other treatments are on offer?

One of the aspects that make Gazelli House truly unique is its treatment menu, with every offering tailored to the individual. For example, the Prescriptive Facial, beloved by many a beauty editor, includes anything from microdermabrasion to radio frequency. For a massage with a difference, try the new Hypnotherapy Mind Massage, which combines mental and physical healing to ease everything from stress to insomnia. And not forgetting the brand new Summer Renewal Body Package, an all-encompassing two-week programme that incorporates acupuncture and Oriental Medicine alongside internal assessments and vacuum suction for your best bikini body yet.
While treatments are open for all, membership to Gazelli House is available on a complimentary basis. For more information, visit; SL reviewed the Supercharged Facial, £245.
